A Scholar-Athlete Legacy

Mark Molitor left an enduring mark on Saint John’s University basketball as both a high-performing center and an exemplary student. His senior-year selection as an Academic All-American recognized not only his performance on the court but also his commitment to academic excellence and leadership.

“Communication, teamwork, and humility—those were the lessons from Collegeville that shaped my life after SJU.”

Bringing His Basketball Skills to Australia

After graduation Mark was recruited to play basketball in Australia for the North Adelaide Rockets. During his basketball career in Australia, Mark was both an accomplished player and leader in several championship winning teams, and later a highly successful coach. During his 4 years as a Head Coach in the Women’s National Basketball League, Mark lead the North Adelaide Women to their first and only WNBL Championship, as well as winning Coach of the Year honors in 1989. He also enjoyed a successful year with the Woodville Warriors, as their Men’s teams Head Coach in 2010, where he recruited and coached talented SJU graduate Brady Brink.

Building a Career in Leadership

After earning his degree from SJU, Mark spent the early years of his career working in large multi-national corporations, based in Australia, before moving into the Executive Search and Consulting Industry in Australia where he became an acknowledged leader in his field at Director and Managing Director level. Leveraging both his on court and off-court leadership experience and success, he went on to found Be Sustained in 2010— a boutique Leadership Development, Executive Coaching and Strategy consulting business, working with leading public and private corporations, municipalities, and For Purpose enterprises to develop and grow the capacity, effectiveness, and impact of their Senior Leaders and C Suite Executives, at both an individual and collective level.

Values Rooted in Saint John’s

The Benedictine principles of community, stewardship, and excellence continue to guide both his professional and personal life. Whether nurturing and developing the positive and sustainable impact of business leaders and executives in their organisations and communities, through coaching and mentoring, or through his involvement in local and global initiatives, Mark brings the same focus and humility that characterized his playing days in Collegeville.

Life Beyond the Court

Residing in Australia, Mark enjoys nurturing body and soul through meditation, staying fit, spending time in nature, and being present in the lives of his children and grandchildren. His life being a reflection of the same balance of care, determination, and curiosity that defined his Saint John’s years—a reminder that the lessons learned on the court often last far beyond the final buzzer.
